Over the years there have been several accidents at the junction of the Oxford Road (A40) and the Marlow Road (B482). Sooner or later there is going to be a really bad one, mainly due to speeding traffic on the A40, coming from the Oxford direction, cutting across the road markings to enter the Marlow Road, often without slackening speed.
Driving a vehicle with a fairly long wheel-base I have to admit that keeping within the markings is difficult. One wonders if they were designed by a pedestrian , in a back room at County Hall.
The only answer is to place a traffic island at this road junction. It would be pricey, no doubt, but less so than the inevitable smash with probable loss of life will be.
Vehicles being allowed to park on the A40 and Marlow Road in the vicinity of this junction worsens the situation. _________________ Old Codger |
